I am always attended to politely and helpfully
Thank you for your positive review of the practice. NHS England required all GP Practices to make several changes to access to appointments due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This included suspension of routine care/appointments during waves of the pandemic. We had to triage patients and screen them for Covid-19 symptoms just prior to any face to face appointment, which is difficult to do if patients book their appointments in advance. This mean we tended to offer a more "same day" rather than routine book in advance service. We have recently started to return back to an appointment system closer to what we had before the Covid-19 pandemic and will keep this under review. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Best regards, Yeading Medical Centre
Most awful doctors surgery in the area, appointment times are absolutely disgraceful, even if you call with a more urgent matter the appointment you will be offered is atleast 2-3 weeks away which doesn’t help at all, no wonder NHS hospital staff at A&E are so stretched because people can’t even get an appointment with their GP. Reception staff are extremely rude except one. Every time you call they want specific details of your medical problem (even if it is personal and you wish to only disclose to your GP) and will not give you an appointment if you do not tell them what is wrong, the last time I called and wouldn’t disclose my problem the receptionist said “well I’m not giving you an appointment if you won’t tell me as I won’t know if it’s urgent or not”. Receptionists are not medically trained so how would they know if it was urgent or not anyway, very rude unhelpful staff, absolutely awful do not use this surgery please, if you value your health please go elsewhere.
We are sorry to read your negative review. We are currently starting to review all our systems and processes (including around appointments) to make them simpler and to improve patient experience. It is helpful when patients give details about why they are seeking an appointment, as this helps ensure our reception team books them into the correct appointment and the health professional is more aware (and prepared) for what might be covered in the appointment. Our staff should be aware to still book an appointment for a patient that does not wish to explain what it is for and we will ensure we refresh this point with our staff. We would welcome you to contact us directly to discuss your experiences further to aid our learning and development. Best regards, Yeading Medical Centre
The surgery advertises the option to book appointments online both on posters and on its website. It was a hassle to get access, and it was an absolute waste of time: when I try to book an appointment online I get the message to contact the surgery. Contacting the surgery is not much better: I understand they are busy, but I don't understand why they can't give me a time point in maybe 3 weeks. If I call before 2pm they tell me that there are no time points at, and that I have to call soon after 2pm and if I'm lucky I'll get a time point for the same day. The receptionist did not seem stupid, so I assume she would be able to use a booking calendar, I guess she is instructed to dirty secret hidden why there are no appointments. When I asked for the manager I waited for many minutes, I did not get connected to the manager, but I got an appointment for the same day. It seems that it's not possible to talk to the manager, but asking for her gives an appointment. I met a new GP again, so he couldn't have remembered me, but he clearly read some of my records before talking to me I have no complaints about him.
One more thing to note: it's also advertised that I will be able to see my records and blood test results if I log in online. Not true. I logged in, and there is NOTHING to see there.
We are sorry to hear about your experience. Currently (in 2021), you are able to access online consultations through our practice website or NHS App. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been instructed by NHS England to triage requests for appointments which means at the moment there is a a more restricted ability to book appointments directly online. You are correct that when you initially get online access, it does not usually come with record access enabled. This has to be requested and activated separately. We apologise if this was not clear and this is now explained step by step on our practice website - see the following link: https://www.yeadingnow medicalcentre.nhs.uk/online-services/ We recognise the advantages and disadvantages of "reserving" some appointment slots that are released after 8am and after 2pm. We will planning to review our appointment system and will take your feedback into consideration. Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Best regards, Yeading Medical Centre
Grace has been amazing helping me through my husbands end of life care. Grace and Dr Perin always go out of their way to help with medication and referrals. Everything has been done quickly and efficiently. The receptionists are also very polite and helpful. It is a great Medical Centre and I'm so glad my family are patients there.
Thank you for your kind words about Grace and Dr Perin, who are both no longer working at Yeading Medical Centre (at the time of writing this response in August 2021). We are glad you have had a great experience and we hope you will experience similar with all our practice staff. Thank you and your family for being patients at our practice. Best regards, Yeading Medical Centre
